Ingredients:
3 pounds 80/20 ground chuck
2 small onions, finely chopped
2 (8-ounce) cans tomato sauce
1 cup water
2 packs sloppy joe seasoning mix
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 green bell pepper slices, optional
4 cheese slices, optional
10 hamburger buns, split
Instructions:
1. Brown ground chuck in skillet over medium heat until
meat reaches 160°F on a meat thermometer.
2. Pour into colander and rinse well. Put into slow cooker.
3. Add onions, tomato sauce and water. Stir thoroughly; add salt. Cover and cook on low for
8 to 10 hours. If too liquid, remove cover for about an hour.
4. Spoon beef mixture on bottom half of each bun. Top with green bell pepper and cheese slice.
Place top of bun on mixture.
